This is a very insightful article from the economist and gives a look into public and private unions over the past 30 or so years and the ups and downs they have had. I personally do not oppose unions, i think many of them are decent ones and are reasonable for what they want in fair pay and collective bargaining rights. I believe its important for big corporation CEO's and the working people to always come to some sort of agreement. Ridding workers from the right to collectively bargain could easily lead to lower wages and lost rights in the work field. However with that said there are some unions that feel they as the workers have earned a given right and some dont necessarily work based on merit or had work rather the time they put in. Being exposed to private sector unions isnt right either. Workers in the private sector should be allowed to collectively bargain and organize all they want. I don't think its correct that a company can go into debt because thier union has skilled negotiators. I don't think there is anything uncapitalistic about people organizing and bargaining.
