I am posting this article to bring up the topic of the current Union strike occurring in Wisconson right now. Wisconsins Governor is in the midst of cutting state spending and budget that will take away bargaining rights for Union members of Teachers, Firefighters and Public workers. It has created such an uproar that has caused rallies all over the country to occur. There has been projected some 70,000 people in one of the largest rallies yet. The bill that is proposed by the governer that is attempted to close the budget gap is claimed to be trampling on union workers and workers rights to fair working conditions and pay. This story has sparked a nation wide protest by teachers and union workers alike from coast to coast and raises a very important question. Is the Governers decision to try and close the budget gap by taking away union workers rights to bargain a good one? isnt this just anther way for a state to try and save money by beating up on the "little guy" what are your thoughts on this situation and do you support the unions protest?
This was in response to exercise #1 i feel that this article represents and addresses my blogging theme very well to my instructor and and classmates very well. It brings up a very common and highly debated political discussion.
